Marking exercise

As usual, PSLE marking exercise is always very tiring where we all have to work for very long hours from 8am to 5pm. To an owl like me, it would be a season where I survive with very little sleep (3-5 hours) especially when I wake up at 6am to pray before heading for the school that i'm posted to for marking while sleeping at abt 2am or 3am. Been very stretched and physically tired this entire week as i've my own tonnes of marking to do, especially composition. Seriously, want to thank God for sustaining me throughout this week. However, my complexion is really bad. Although the next two weeks would be exam weeks, I am really glad that it's back to normal school days. They are going to be weeks where I will be yet stretched again but i'm going to trust God for the divine strength. However, I can't help but to be anxious about my pupils. Have they really made use of these week to study hard. I really hope that they can excel for their final exam.

Back to my last day of the marking exercise. Usually on the last day, the markers would have lots of time to spare. One colleague(Lauren) whom I met through Yi Ying(my hall mate) was in the same room as me. She was very kind and she brought her beads set on the last day to teach us how to make accessories. It reminded me of my school's open house where I made a pair of earrings and ring for myself too. She made a bracelet for Ying and a necklace for Shanti. She supposedly say that she will give me mine soon. I was looking at how she made the necklace while marking my pupil's revision papers. Sometimes I do wonder, why do I give them so much work just to make myself burntout. I've got 6 sets of papers(6*30= 180) to mark when I collect from them on Monday. I guess the only reason I can comfort myself with is that I really want them to do well. *sacrifice*

That's part of the necklace that Lauren was working on.

We were very thankful that we were released at about 1 pm on Friday and I headed to Lauren's house for lunch together with Ying. Her maid cooked very nice beehoon and finger food for us. This week was simply a eat and grow fat week for me. That Zi Ling and I went for a very long jog, roughly 7km on Wednesday night. It was a great breakthru for us - If we perservere we will definitely be able to breakthru. Above, are the figurines which Lauren's brother-in-law gave her sister-in law. They are so beautiful. Love them!!

Here's Lauren's collection of precious moments figurines given by her hubby. Love them too!! :P
This is Xanthus, Lauren's nephew. He's really a very happy baby. So adorable. :)

He's a very intelligent baby for his age. He's always so smiley and giggling. He makes me smile. :)

After lunch, the three of us headed to the cold storage at Eastwood to buy Munchy Donuts. :) Donuts are my favourite. I bought eight of them. Two for a friend and the rest for my family. Guess what, I smashed the two which my friend wanted by accidentally sitting down on them while wearing my shoes. I really did not realise it. I felt so bad. Thank God there was one left so I brought that out instead.
